Short Story (English Translation)
After school in the classroom. Minako was slumped over her desk, stressed about the next audition assignment.
“What even are my strengths…?”
Next to her, Sayaka was squishing a squeeze toy in her hands, smiling brightly.
“You know, Minako, you’ve got this voice that lights up a room even when you’re nervous. You should totally lean into that!”
Meanwhile, Kenta was watching the latest Monaki video on his phone.
“This creator does insane self-analysis. He turns his weaknesses into jokes and grows from them. Maybe you could do something like that, Minako?”
“Weaknesses… as strengths…?”
Minako slowly lifted her head.
Just then, Yuki burst into the room.
“Look at this! The new entry in the ID-photo series! It’s going viral because everyone says it looks like you!”
On the screen was a character with an awkward but incredibly earnest expression.
“…Huh. I kinda get it.”
Minako blushed, but a warm feeling spread in her chest.
“Speaking of which,” Kenta continued.
“Remember how nervous you were before the live show? You still sang in front of us as your real self. That was seriously amazing.”
Sayaka nodded enthusiastically.
